Ash Hollow Park is historic with prehistoric elements, Native Indian history, as well as being on the Mormon and Oregon trails. It was an important stopping point, like an oasis, for the pioneers that needed fresh water, shelter and wood to repair their wagons.
Today, this park remains a landmark destination in Western Nebraska, and offers beautiful hiking trails, educational experiences and recreational activities. Ash Hollow Museum features exhibitions that tell the stories of Ash Hollow’s past, whereas the walks around the park will give explorers a glimpse into Western Nebraska’s wildlife and history.
